Project description
An established provider in the healthcare sector is seeking an experienced Uniface developer to further develop business-critical applications in the healthcare industry. The role combines technical responsibility for core modules with the gradual modernization of systems and the targeted use of AI in software engineering.
Responsibilities
- Assume end-to-end responsibility for selected modules of an established Uniface-based application system
- Analyze and refactor existing Uniface codebases to make them more maintainable and stable
- Ensure the security of critical healthcare processes and reliably further develop existing software
- Integrate Uniface modules with modern Java/Quarkus services and AI-powered workflows
- Further develop interfaces to the telematics infrastructure, electronic health records, and GDT, LDT, and xDT standards
- Use AI agents and tools such as Claude Code for code analysis, refactoring, and documentation, and share insights within the team
- Work with the architecture and engineering teams to shape the platform’s long-term modernization strategy
Requirements
Must-have
These criteria are required for the project.
- Several years of senior-level experience in Uniface development, ideally in business-critical and long-running application systems
- In-depth understanding of relational databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
- Experience with version control as well as build, deployment, and delivery processes
- Proficiency in software integration and the phased modernization of existing systems
- A college degree in a technical or IT-related field, such as computer science, business informatics, mathematics, or electrical engineering
- Business-level proficiency in German and fluency in spoken and written English
- An independent, pragmatic approach to work and strong problem-solving skills
Nice-to-have
Not required, but a plus for your application.
- Knowledge of Java, Quarkus, or healthcare interfaces
- Experience with Claude Code or comparable AI agents, AI pipelines, and context engineering
- Practical experience integrating with TI, ePA, GDT, LDT, or xDT environments
