Project description

We are seeking a Senior C++ Developer (m/f/d) for an established company in the healthcare software sector (B2B, ranging from medium-sized enterprises to large corporations) to further develop high-performance desktop applications with a focus on stability, scalability, and the modernization of an established codebase.

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of C++ components for Windows desktop applications with clear goals regarding performance, stability, and scalability
  • Design and implementation of multithreading/parallelization approaches for safe, efficient concurrency with high UI responsiveness (clinical user requirements)
  • Analysis of the existing codebase, identification of bottlenecks (CPU, memory, I/O, locks), and sustainable runtime optimization, including a measurement strategy
  • Debugging complex error scenarios (race conditions, deadlocks, Heisenbugs) and implementation of robust diagnostics (logging, tracing, crash dumps)
  • Close collaboration with architecture, QA, and product management to deliver maintainable, testable, and release-ready solutions
  • Support for the modernization/migration of legacy technologies (MFC, ATL, Win32, Delphi) toward modern C++ and the latest .NET (interfaces, interop, modular replacement)
  • Establishing and improving build and dependency management (CMake, Conan, MSVC) for reproducible builds and clear artifact pipelines
  • Use of AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) for refactoring, code analysis, and legacy modernization, including contributing to shared agents, prompts, and workflows within the team

  • Must-have: Practical experience in performance tuning (profiling, hot-path optimization, memory/thread analysis) and safe concurrent design
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with CMake, Conan, and MSVC in professional build setups
  • Must-have: Experience integrating typical desktop components such as CEF and/or Qt
  • Must-have: Structured, analytical approach to work, high standards for quality, and a commitment to clean solutions
  • Desirable: Experience with agent-based coding tools (e.g., Claude Code), building agents/skills/workflows, and “context engineering”
  • Desirable: Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, medtech) and an understanding of quality assurance/compliance
  • Desirable: Degree in a technical field (computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or similar) or equivalent practical experience
