Project description
An established company in the healthcare sector is seeking an experienced senior C++ developer to further develop and modernize performance- and availability-critical applications in the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities
- Development and expansion of sophisticated C++ components with a focus on performance, stability, and scalability
- Design and implementation of secure multithreading and parallelization solutions for responsive clinical applications
- Analysis of existing applications and identification of performance and stability bottlenecks
- Refactoring and optimizing a mature Qt-based codebase and implementing measurable performance improvements
- Modernizing legacy components based on MFC, ATL, Win32, and Delphi
- Integrating and further developing components in an environment using CMake, Conan, MSVC, Qt, and embedded CEF
- Close collaboration with architecture, quality assurance, and product management to deliver maintainable solutions
- Use of AI-powered development tools for code analysis, refactoring, and modernization; expansion of shared agents, skills, and prompt templates
Requirements
Must-have
These criteria are required for the project.
- Several years of senior-level experience in professional C++ development, ideally for high-performance desktop applications
- Excellent knowledge of modern C++ (C++14/17/20), multithreading, concurrency, and safe concurrent programming
- Practical experience in debugging, profiling, and performance optimization of complex codebases
- Extensive experience with Qt, CMake, Conan, and MSVC; experience integrating CEF
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science or a comparable technical, mathematical, or scientific discipline
- A structured, analytical approach to work, a strong focus on quality, and the ability to take independent ownership
- Fluency in English; interest in software solutions for the healthcare sector
Nice-to-have
Not required, but a plus for your application.
- Experience with modernizing MFC, ATL, Win32, or Delphi applications
- Practical experience with AI agents such as Claude Code and agent-based development workflows
- Knowledge of AI pipelines, harnesses, and context engineering
- Very good command of German
