Project description
An investor in the infrastructure sector is seeking a technical expert in district heating with 20–30 years of experience in planning, construction, and operations to provide technical guidance during discussions with municipal providers and to assist the investor with technical evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Expert support for discussions and negotiations with municipal district heating providers
- Technical assessment of network operations, plant condition, and investment needs
- Analysis of potential for district heating expansion and network densification
- Evaluation of existing and planned generation concepts (including decarbonization pathways)
- Preparation of technical assessments and statements to serve as a basis for the investor’s decision-making
- Identification of technical and regulatory risks as part of the reviews
- Point of contact for technical inquiries from management and external consultants
- Support in validating feasibility and expansion plans
Requirements
Must-have
These criteria are required for the project.
- 20–30 years of experience in the planning, construction, and operation of district heating networks
- In-depth knowledge of network operation, as well as network consolidation and expansion
- Experience with district heating generation concepts (conventional and renewable)
- Experience collaborating with municipal utilities
- Confident demeanor in negotiations with external stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills for the technical evaluation of projects
Nice-to-have
Not required, but a plus for your application.
- Experience in transaction or investment processes (M&A Due Diligence)
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., the Heat Planning Act)
- Experience advising investors or private equity firms
- Network in the municipal energy supply sector
