Project description
We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Owner (part-time) for a group-wide data and BI project focused on operational metrics.
Responsibilities
- Operational technical project management for a group-wide situational awareness/operations reporting project
- Responsibility for the project’s technical deliverability within the agreed scope
- Translation of business objectives, KPI requirements, and specifications into actionable epics, features, user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria
- Building, maintaining, and prioritizing the technical product backlog in Jira
- Preparing sprint planning in collaboration with Requirements Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Reporting, and UX
- Managing the end-to-end implementation from requirements through architecture and data integration to data services, the semantic model, and reports
- Coordinate technical dependencies between the Holding Lakehouse, source systems, Databricks, Power BI, and infrastructure and platform teams
- Align business and technical priorities with business project management and relevant stakeholders
- Facilitate refinements, technical planning sessions, and decision-making workshops
- Risk and roadblock management, as well as support with release planning
Requirements
Must-have
These criteria are required for the project.
- Several years of experience as a Technical Product Owner or in a comparable role in data/BI projects
- Extensive Project Management experience, including leading interdisciplinary teams
- Hands-on experience with Databricks in an Azure environment and with Lakehouse architectures
- Proficiency with Jira for backlog management and task tracking
- Experience with Power BI (data provisioning, semantic models, DAX)
- Ability to translate business requirements and KPI targets into technical epics, features, and user stories
- German language skills at least at the C1 level
- Strong communication and facilitation skills for workshops and decision-making sessions
Nice-to-have
Not required, but a plus for your application.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and, in the future, GitHub
- Knowledge of Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- Experience with the DQX framework for data quality rules
- Experience in developing standardized data operating models
