Project description
We are seeking an experienced shop floor expert for a leading automotive manufacturer with a production facility in Poland to join a task force in the Operations department, with a focus on assembly.
Responsibilities
- Assumption of operational control of the assembly process in task force mode to stabilize output, quality, and on-time delivery
- On-site analysis of current assembly processes (Gemba walks, takt time and value stream analysis) to identify the largest sources of waste
- Reduction of rework rates and downtime through targeted root-cause analyses (8D, 5-Why)
- Establishment of a standardized shop floor management system with daily team meetings, KPI boards, and escalation procedures
- Development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and optimization of critical workstations
- Coaching and training of shift and team leaders to ensure the sustainable implementation of improvements
- Coordination with Production, Quality, Logistics, and Maintenance, as well as reporting to the steering committee
- Handover to the internal team with a documented improvement program and measurable results
Requirements
Must-have
These criteria are required for the project.
- Several years of shop floor and assembly experience in the automotive or supplier industry, ideally in mass production
- Experience with task force or turnaround assignments in an operations environment
- Fluent written and spoken Polish (at least C1 level)
- In-depth knowledge of Lean Production and the Toyota Production System (value stream mapping, 5S, SMED, Kaizen)
- Proficiency in problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa)
- Leadership experience in coaching shift supervisors and team leaders
Nice-to-have
Not required, but a plus for your application.
- Consulting Toolkit: Experience with Project Management, process modeling, and stakeholder management
- Knowledge of shop floor digitalization (MES, Andon systems, digital KPI boards)
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification
- German language skills (at least B2 level) for coordination with corporate headquarters
