Project description
An experienced SAP logistics expert is needed on short notice for an internationally active supplier to the manufacturing industry with production sites in Germany and Hungary. Following an SAP S/4HANA go-live, there are currently challenges in the cross-plant (intercompany) logistics processes, which are leading to increased process complexity and delays in the flow of materials between the sites.
Responsibilities
- Analysis of end-to-end supply chain processes, from material planning and order processing to shipping and delivery date confirmation
- Review and optimization of SAP intercompany processes, particularly plant-to-plant transfers
- Identification and prioritization of root causes for delivery bottlenecks, backlogs, and a lack of process transparency
- Clear distinction between system errors, process issues, organizational shortcomings, and manual workarounds
- Evaluation of Excel-based interim solutions and transition back to robust standard SAP processes
- Establishing transparency regarding orders, confirmations, material availability, inventory, production, and shipping status
- Defining and implementing a prioritized recovery action plan with assigned responsibilities and deadlines
- Close coordination of collaboration between SAP/IT, Supply Chain, Production, Logistics, and Management
- On-site monitoring of the measures and ensuring measurable improvements
- Regular management reporting on root causes, progress, risks, and decision-making requirements
Requirements
Must-have
These criteria are required for the project.
- 7+ years of experience as a senior SAP logistics or supply chain expert
- Extensive hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and cross-plant material flows
- Proven experience with intercompany processes in production and logistics
- Experience in post-go-live, hypercare, or recovery situations
- Excellent skills in root-cause analysis and process stabilization
- A hands-on approach and willingness to travel regularly to Hungary for on-site assignments
- Business-level proficiency in English
Nice-to-have
Not required, but a plus for your application.
- Experience in the manufacturing supply industry
- Knowledge of SAP MM, SD, PP, and LE, or related integrations
- Fluency in German and/or Hungarian
- Experience in management reporting and managing international stakeholders
