Shop Floor Manager (Interim) – Wiring Harness Manufacturing in Morocco
An international automotive supplier with a production facility in Morocco is seeking an experienced Shop Floor Manager to oversee and optimize production operations in a two-shift system. The position is based entirely on-site and involves direct interaction with shift supervisors, quality assurance, and plant management.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and managing ongoing production in a two-shift operation
- Ensuring production targets are met in terms of quality, quantity, and on-time delivery
- Continuously optimizing manufacturing processes along the wiring harness production lines
- Early identification, prioritization, and escalation of disruptions, bottlenecks, and quality deviations
- Close coordination with shift supervisors, quality assurance, maintenance, and plant management
- Conducting structured shop floor meetings and ensuring transparent communication of relevant KPIs
- Analyzing production metrics and deriving and tracking specific improvement measures
- Applying lean methods to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and stabilize processes
- Comprehensive documentation of production deviations, root cause analyses, and implemented measures
- Training, technical guidance, and motivation of on-site production staff
Requirements
Must-have
These criteria are required for the project.
- Several years of experience as a shop floor manager, production manager, or in a comparable operational leadership role in the automotive supply industry
- In-depth knowledge of wiring harness or electronics manufacturing
- Proven experience managing two-shift operations with long shift hours
- Proficiency in applying Lean and shop floor management methods, particularly 5S, KPI boards, Andon, and daily performance management
- Business-level proficiency in French or Arabic
- Unconditional willingness to work on-site in Morocco on an intensive basis
- Strong assertiveness, a pronounced hands-on approach, and intercultural competence
Nice-to-have
Not required, but a plus for your application.
- Experience with common MES or ERP systems
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 or comparable quality standards
- Language skills: French or Arabic
- Experience in setting up or ramping up new production lines
