Project description
A consulting firm specializing in the process industry is seeking, on behalf of a large medium-sized enterprise that manufactures paints and coatings, an SCM or operations consultant (m/f/d) / strategy consultant (m/f/d) to develop a long-term production strategy.
Responsibilities
- Development of a 10-Year Strategy for the Further Development of Production at a Manufacturer of Paints and Coatings
- Analysis of the existing production structure with a complex portfolio of over 10,000 products
- Assessment of the trade-off between flexibility and efficiency in make-to-order and make-to-stock manufacturing
- Development of future scenarios to optimize the level of automation, capacities, and vertical integration
- Conducting and facilitating workshops with internal stakeholders and plant management
- Preparation of in-depth data analyses (Excel) to evaluate production variants and investment options
- Compiling results and decision-making documents into compelling PowerPoint presentations
- Close coordination and communication with the client at the management level
- Developing a concept for the phased turnaround and transformation of production
- Supporting the project team in deriving concrete implementation measures
Requirements
Must-have
These criteria are required for the project.
- Several years of experience as a consultant in Supply Chain Management, operations, or production strategy
- Demonstrable project experience in the process industry, ideally in chemicals, coatings/paints, or related sectors
- Experience in developing long-term production and site strategies
- Proficiency in Excel for complex data analysis and professional PowerPoint presentations
- Experience in designing and facilitating workshops with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, as well as a structured approach to work
- Confident, client-oriented demeanor and excellent communication skills
- Business-level proficiency in German
Nice-to-have
Not required, but a plus for your application.
- Experience with make-to-order and make-to-stock production concepts in complex product portfolios
- Knowledge of lean production, automation, or the digitalization of production processes
- Experience with turnaround or transformation projects in medium-sized enterprises
